STIR – June 30th

God has placed in us gifts that we need to stir into flame (1 Timothy 1:6). He as also called us to consider how to stir up one another to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24) We have gits in us and christian brothers and sisters around us that need to be stired up.

Stir is a day that we set aside once a month to pray and fast together as a church and we are asking God to stir us up. We gather together for a corporate time of prayer at 6 – 8 pm at the connection building. If you are going to join with us please sign up at the service or e-mail us at info@lifeconnectionchurch.net.

Haiti Relief: Who will help the churches in Haiti?

Who will help the churches in Haiti?

The images streaming in from Haiti is disturbing. We feel pity, sorrow and a sense of helplessness at the extent of their plight. The waves of humanitarian aid are washing ashore in Haiti and beginning to meet this massive need but little if any of this medicine will soothe the sores of the suffering church. The country will be rebuilt in time, but so little of that aid will go to the pastors and congregations who are decimated and broken.

Who is helping the Haitian churches and the pastors? While so many agencies will be focused on the immediate social needs, the local communities of faith are devastated as well. These bodies of Christ can also contribute toward meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of the local people who are burying their family members and are seeking comfort, counsel and guidance.

“Churches Helping Churches” initiated by Mark Driscoll and James MacDonald is calling on the North American church to help restore the ravaged church in Haiti. MacDonald writes, “Without question the priority of the ‘church helping the church’ is commanded by Paul in scripture and modeled by Paul in his crisis care for the Corinthians and the church in Jerusalem. If Paul were alive today there is no doubt his first concern as a church planter and leader in the body of Christ would be for the family of God in Haiti.”

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10

Mark and James are going to Haiti early next week to see first hand and assess what can be done to meet the needs of the church in the toughest areas. They will take a team to help them capture this story so they can report on the hope the North American church can bring. They hope to get some great stories on video about what God is doing in Haiti to help encourage God’s people around the world to be generous and help those in need. They are seeking to provide great photos and other video footage to give away online, to give to Christian agencies who could use it to help expose the need of the church, and to give to mainstream media outlets showing the difference the church and God’s people are making.

Acts 29 Network is asking you to consider helping the churches in Haiti so they can continue to contribute in the recovery when other agencies have moved on from the devastated land. Please ask the members of your congregation to contribute financially this week or next to unite as the Church helping churches.

Christmas Day Bike Giveaway

On Dec 12th we were busy taking pictures of local families for Help Portrait. When I say local, I mean local local, as in families that live in the surrounding blocks. We have really felt convicted that we haven’t poured into the immediately surrounding community. The community we are in is a pretty rough one, a lot of broken families, drug abuse, prostitution. We’ve always felt like we were planted here for a purpose, but recently that purpose has become more concrete and we’ve started to act on it.

So the same day Help Portrait was in full swing a local company donated 15 kids bikes to us, a total surprise and huge blessing. We started brainstorming ideas on what to do and we thought, “why not just walk through our neighborhood on Christmas day and hand these out to kids?” Wasn’t a typical church outreach plan, or typical for us either. We weren’t going to invite them to a service and make them wait to the end, or give them away to all the kids in our church. Though we love our kids too, we thought we’d demonstrate it to them differently.

We felt a greater blessing for our kids would be for them to come with us and help us give them away. So on Christmas Day a handful of families loaded the bikes into a truck and we took the caravan through the neighborhood. We met a lot of the families in the neighborhood and they greeted us with tearful thank you’s and the kids were overjoyed. About 10 minutes into it word had spread quickly and kids were running out to greet us.

It was truly one of the most amazing experiences and opportunities we’ve been apart of, we were so blessed and thankful to be able to do it and share in the lives with the families around us. We really look forward to doing this every year, but also doing a lot more on a regular basis with these families. We are actively praying about where God would lead us and where and how he’d have us serve our local community. Thank you to everyone who took part in this, it truly was special.

God’s grace will intervene in your life

This is a encouragement written to the church by Elder Shawn Lind.

“I would rather have more of God’s grace than my problems removed”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

More than ever before I think people can relate to this verse. We feel beat down, trudging though life, with no real hope on the horizon. Some of us find it hard to pay the bills, or even find a job, even though we are doing all that we can. Nothing seems to be working, and it’s hard to find the strength to even keep going. They ask, “What’s the point in going on?”

Some try to please God, and yet despite their effort they don’t feel connected to Him at all. Discouragement, doubt, division, hopelessness, and bitterness begin to take root. More than ever we need encouragement. It’s wonderful to know that Jesus said we should not worry about tomorrow, for today is filled with enough troubles (Matt 6:34).

What’s so amazing about that verse is that right before it says; “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

The most important factor is to “FIX” or “SET” your attention on God, and his ways. God is good. His Kingdom is FAIR, JUST, and HOLY. He sees your problems and difficulties. When we set our attention on HIM we are renewed by hope and faith. He may choose not to “remove” the obstacle, but he can give us more grace to go through the challenge.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Paul prays for God to “remove this thorn from my side”. God response was that His grace is sufficient for him, and that His power is made perfect in weakness. I would rather have more of God’s grace than my problems removed.

Imagine that you are in a canoe on a small river, as you are traveling downstream you come to a MAJOR obstacle. You see that there is a huge 4 foot boulder that is sticking up out of the river that is blocking your path. You pray “Lord remove this boulder.” Yes he is able to remove it, but what if He chooses to raise the water level 4 feet instead. That is an example of His grace abounding more in times of trouble.

When times bring major “boulders” in my life I have never seen God remove them the way I think He should. He always works them through in ways I can’t figure out. By doing this it builds my faith in greater ways and reminds me to keep my eyes on Him more than my problems.

Imagine yourself looking through a scope or binoculars. As you put the binoculars up to your eyes, your vision shifts and you are only able to see where to binoculars are aimed. By aiming your sights on God and His Kingdom you are renewed by His love, power and purpose. You are not able to see all that is around you, all that you can see what’s in focus. His Kingdom is in order and running smooth. Set your clock to his time zone, and your thoughts to His Kingdom. Your true citizenship is in Heaven.

Col 3:1-2 “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God’s right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth.”

I think of the song “Turn your eye upon Jesus” It says that as we look full in His wonderful grace the “things” of earth grow strangely dim in the light of his wonder and grace.

Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

As will give our attention to God He will protect and guard your mind from all sorts of thoughts and worries.

1 Corinthians 3:19 “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” He’s kingdom operates differently than human understanding. The key word is to be in tune with God, not listening only to man’s words, and opinions. Remember that everyone has advice to give you. But in your weakness and humility lean on God. He is you first and only option.

2 Cor 3:5 “It is not that we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success come from God.”

Get ready and be excited about how God’s grace will intervene in your life to cause you to grow in your faith.

Post-Encounter Session 1

We are now taking our post encounter out of a live class room and making it a virtual class room. All the post encounter classes will be available online.

The purpose of post encounter is to solidify the decisions that you made during your encounter weekend by giving you tools to grow. Post encounter is a 8-session class held online at your own pace. The classes are taught by a variety of teachers and there is no cost to you.

Post encounter also must be completed by those who are planning on becoming members of Life Connection Church. As a reminder the membership steps are:

Be baptized in water

1. Jesus Christ is preeminent over all creation. God has worked through Christ to secure redemption and reconciliation for all who put their faith in him.

2.Believers are in Christ and thus participate in a relationship of solidarity with Christ in his death on the cross, his resurrection from the dead, his new life, and his fullness.

3. Christ has defeated the powers of darkness on the cross, and Christians share in his power and authority over that realm.

4. Believers are called to grow in maturity in Christ by getting rid of sinful practices and cultivating Christian virtues.

A real, old-fashioned Ho-Down Showdown

As many of you know, one of our elders, Mark Rohl and his wife, Kendra, recently adopted a beautiful baby boy, Tobias. No one was prepared for how quickly God would answer their prayers, as the process was incredibly swift. So, a real, old-fashioned Ho-Down Showdown was held this past Sunday evening at the Connection Center building as a fundraising event to help defray the adoption costs. Many thanks go out to Shawn and Suzee Lind for all their hard work and effort in putting this together and making the event so successful. A total of $650 was raised as a result. Praise Jesus!

I am incredibly blessed to be a part of a family that is knit together by the Spirit of God; a family that truly takes care of one another and edifies each other. The event was overflowing with fun and laughter, and it was for a glorious cause. This poem was written to capture the evening:

Laughter and dancin’ was all over the place.
Nary a smile was missin’ from a face.
Blacked out teeth and hair tied with twine,
It shore was a rootin-tootin’ good time!

Chicken on the grill, and corn on the cob;
Even a few apples so the kids could bob.
There was line dancin’ and two-steppin’ after a lesson or two
(Whitney and Pete had to show us what to do.)

The duds were mostly cowboy boots and hats
And Brett made sure the music never went flat.
Christy collected money and even her hubby Josh came…
We’ll never hear the Honky Tonk Pa-donky Donk song quite the same.

There’s a doggone good reason for all this fun had by us,
And that was to honor our new little Tobias.
His Ma and Pa couldn’t be prouder,
And so much cheerin’ made the music grow louder.

They had no idea how their lives would change when they woke up that morn,
Because, out of hope, the little whipper snapper was born.
“This gift,” God said, “I give to you.”
“Your faith has been proven, tried and true.”

Let’s take a moment and thank God above
For His undying mercy, His passion, His love.
Our children are gifts; we are entrusted with their lives.
So raise them up in Jesus, the one and only true prize.

Life Connection Church joins Acts 29 network

This has been a big week for Life Connection Church and we’re excited to keep the good news coming. We are announcing our recent transition from “Acts 29 Candidate” to full membership. The A29 blog just published an article introducing us to the network. We’re really excited to be joining the network, there are so many pastors, worship leaders and friends here that we respect.

A29 is a philosophically diverse but theologically united organization, translation, we all believe the same gospel but have different styles and philosophies on how to execute it. We consider ourselves a Reformed-Charismatic church. That means we are reformed in theology, non-cessationist, holy spirit believing, gift empowered body of believers that sing our guts out to loud, thumping, worship music. We are a creative bunch, that use lots of video, “concert” lighting, text messaging Q&A, twitter to organize our home groups, podcasting, vodcasting, live loops… We’re in downtown Phoenix, in a rough neighborhood that frequently has police helicopters circling our building during night meetings. The point is we aren’t your grandparent’s reformed church.

But then again…we are complementarian, we are firm believers of sola scriptura, we love Piper, Chandler, Driscoll, Keller and many of us are 4.5 point calvanists. (Not all of us and no that isn’t a typo, 4 and a half) We practice church discipline, are introducing formal membership, preach the cross relentlessly and by that I mean the rugged cross, penal substitutionary atonement, propitiation and expiation.

We’re a crazy bunch of misfits for sure, but we have deep conviction about what we do and who we are in Christ. We’re excited to team up with the group of A29 churches here in Phoenix and share the gospel with the lost and hurting. We pray this opens new doors for our church and that we’re able to reach more people for Christ.

Care Connection Counseling

As we prepare to move forward into a life of Gospel Community, we are reminded of Hebrews 13:20-21, “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

God has richly blessed this body with a variety of gifts. We are expected to use our gifts for the edification of the church body, and ultimately for His glory. However, when the church ignores the condition of the soul, it requires believers to become good actors. Christians often times experience loneliness, anger, resentment or a myriad of other unresolved issues.

For that reason, we are introducing Care Connection; a soul-care ministry to assist the sanctification/transformation process in a safe environment where the broken and struggling are given grace, truth, and time to discover, heal and grow. Heather Campos will be utilizing her gift of counsel and sharing with us her ideas and instructions for lay counseling.

Twitter helps keep our gospel communities informed

As Pastor Aaron starts his sermon series on Gospel Communities and as our Connection Groups start to take on a new look we want to see what we can utilize to keep our communities better informed of the community that exists and its events and gatherings. As you may or may not know, we have a pretty active Twitter community inside of LCC including our own @LifeConnection twitter account which broadcasts all new blog posts including sermons and other news updates.

Part of this gospel community transformation is living life together and gathering around the gospel. We as a LCC family do so much together and those meetings, impromptu gatherings, parties, etc… should be made known so that it can encourage others to join and get deeper into community. There are lots of ways of doing that, but the avenue this post is about is how we are going to use Twitter for this purpose.

Anytime you are hanging out, meeting with, eating with, partying with, discussing with, praying with people (you get the idea) you can tweet about it and include the hashtag #lccgc . That stands for Life Connection Church Gospel Community. Here are a couple of examples if you are confused:

Now, you may be wondering how you are notified of these #lccgc messages. There are a few ways.

1. Life Connection Church Website -> Communities

All of these messages are collected and displayed on our website under the Communities page. This makes an easy viewing area for people who are not Twitter savvy.

2. Join the Twub

Twubs is a site that organizes twitter hash tags. We have 2 twubs that you can join, #lccgc and the more generic #lifeconnection. Stay tuned for how we are planning to use the #lifeconnection hash tag.

3. Save a search for #lccgc and get notifications

There are a ton of different ways of doing this depending on your Twitter app. If you use TweetDeck you can save a search column for #lccgc . You can search for #lccgc on twitter itself and subscribe to the RSS feed for it.

But probably for most of you cellphone but non-iPhone-TweetDeck-using people you’ll want to use the “track” feature of Twitter. This means from your phone you txt a msg to twitter like:

track #lccgc

Now you’ll get notifications anytime a msg appears with that hashtag regardless if you follow that person or not. You probably have a lot of questions, so please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments section and we’ll help you get setup.

7th Anniversary Celebration Recap

On July 24, the members of Life Connection Church gathered for a night of celebration as we recognized our 7^th anniversary. It truly was an amazing evening at the Valley Garden Center, filled with laughter, recognition, celebration, and thanksgiving. It was also a time of reflection as we looked back upon the journey on which God has guided us, as well as looking ahead to the vision He is revealing.

Hats off to Mel Campos, who catered the meal for the evening. She did a phenomenal job, and no one left hungry! Thanks also are extended to all the elders and their wives for making this, by far, the most exceptional celebration dinner we’ve ever had.

The highlight of the evening, however, was the interns’ graduation. This group of young men and women has persevered over the past year by serving, learning, studying, and growing in the Lord, while trying to maintain relationships with each other, their families, and their jobs. Everyone at Life Connection Church is proud of each of them for their determination and resolve, and we wish them continued blessings as they press forward in their walk.

Check out the pictures and see for yourself what a glorious commemoration this was. As we gear up for the next 7 years, we pray for the Lord’s continued grace and direction as we share the gospel in our community.

7th Anniversary Banquet

One Prayer 2009: One Prayer began in 2008 with a simple idea: We pray to Jesus asking Him to answer our prayers – what if we became the answer to His? He prayed that we would be one, and One Prayer is an opportunity to see what can be accomplished when the Church works together.

Last June, thousands of churches formed unprecedented partnerships across cities, continents, denominations, and cultures. More than two million believers stood together to learn, pray, fast, and love others. This year, we’ll be joining forces once again as we go out into the world to share, serve and give during One Prayer 2009.

Membership is about more than attending church meetings. Members who enter into a covenant with us are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice. By becoming a Covenant Member you are committing to be part of a spiritual family that will provide support and encouragement in your walk with Christ.

Our elders and leadership pledge to assist our Covenant Members first and foremost, by providing care and counsel as well as pray, teach and guide as necessary.

We hope that as the Lord leads, you will take the following steps by covenanting with us to be part of Life Connection Church.

Attend an encounter weekend
Be baptized in water
complete post-encounter classes
Attend Membership 101 class - We hold membership in high regard and want our guests and those who regularly attend to make an informed decision about joining our church. By providing a class we are able to cover the essentials of what it means to be a Covenant Member, our basic beliefs, our distinctives and what you should expect from the elders and leaders. The class is coming on Saturday 3/13/10 10am – 5 p.m.

Philippians 1

3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.

This verse really hit me this week. The Love that Paul had for that church was deep and he always prayed for them with joy because of there partnership. He said he had them in there heart. I have to say that I was truly touched by this an encouraged because I really feel this way about the people God has put in my life. The partnership that I get to have with the people in this house to carry out gospel is one that I am blessed to have. I thank God for you! I love the partners that God has given to me and I want you to know that you are in my heart.

I also want to encourage you with verse six as I was encouraged he who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. We have to know if God is author he will finish it. If He is the one who began it then He will finish it. We need to put our faith in Jesus and the unity that He has brought into this house by the spirit and watch Him carry out in us the vision that He started.

I love you and thank you for partnering with me in the gospel and I carry you in my heart. What a great fast!

Hunger Week – Day #5

Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.

When we believe and follow Jesus there will be signs that accompany us. We are told that when we lay hands on the sick they will recover. We, by Jesus, have been given authority over demons, poisons, and sickness. If these are signs that follow those who believe why are we not seeing them follow us? I think it has to do with our lack of belief. Do we believe that in the name of Jesus we can be healed? God has power over all disease and He has told us to lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

Jas 5:14 – Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

God is the one who does the healing but the word of God tells us to to lay hands on sick and anoint them with oil. I think we should just do it and believe that He can and will heal. Today as we are praying for healing I want you to meditate on a few things.

(1) Do you believe you have authority in the name of Jesus over all demons and sickness?

(2) Do you put that belief in action by laying hands on people and praying for them?

My challenge to you today is simply to ask someone if you can pray for them, and then lay hands on them and pray and believe God will do a miracle.

Hunger Week – Day #4

Matthew 9:37 – 38

Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. I think that we need to let the words of Jesus sink into our spirit. There are so many people who do not know Jesus and there are so many people who are in need of the gospel. We cannot ever think that the opportunity is not there but we must look at our willingness to labor. We need laborers! When it comes to spiritual labor we have to believe that part of that laboring is prayer. We have to be a people who are willing to pray and work towards seeing others brought to Jesus. When we know that Jesus is the only one to save man then we know that our evangelism must be cloaked in earnest prayer.

Jesus tells His disciples to pray earnestly for more laborers. Not only do we want the harvest but we need more people who are willing to labor in prayer and in work to see the harvest come in. I think we need to listen to the words of Jesus and not only be laborers but pray for more. It is very important for us to pray earnestly in this fast for the people who do not know Christ, and for more people to develop a love that motivates them to labor for the harvest.

Questions to think about:

1. Are you laboring in prayer and action?

2. What holds you back from laboring in prayer and action?

Hunger Week – Day #3

Mark 9:29 - So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

I was thinking about this verse as we are fasting and praying. It’s interesting how there are certain demons that only come out when we starve our flesh and feed our spirits. What is it about fasting and prayer that takes us to another level of authority?

Julio C. Ruibal said, “Our greatest victories are won on our knees and with empty stomachs.”

I was thinking about how we become stronger spiritually when we become weaker physically. There is something about being weak and hungry that promotes more spiritual strength. I like the fact that the weaker we get the stronger He gets in us.

2 Corinthians 12:10

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong

It makes this fast much more meaningful when I think of all the things I am praying for in my life, my family and my church. I realize that I cannot handle this in my own strength. It is only going to be by the strength and power of the Lord. So I take pleasure in this fast knowing that He is becoming stronger in my life and I am excited to see the great victories that are going to be won on my knees with an empty stomach.

Questions to meditate on…

(1) What major things do you want to see God do in your life?

(2) What areas do you need to see victory in?

(3) Who in your life are you praying for?

Hunger week – Day #2

2 Chronicles 7:14 ”if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

To turn from our wicked ways or to repent is usually a big part of our prayer life. We know that when we have sin in our hearts, or lives, that there is a block between us and God. Every time we come before Him (if we do) we are confronted with the ugliness of our sin. Most of us cannot even focus in our prayer life if we know we have unrepented sin. Many times I find my self praying like David.

Psalm 139: 23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

What I am learning about repentance is it is something that I have to continue in. Not only do I need to continue in prayer all day and it is not just a one time event but I need to have my heart in a humble and repentant state on a continual basis. I also need His Spirit to search me and show me sin otherwise I might excuse it and call it normal. I cannot even know my sin unless the Holy Spirit and or the Word reveals it to me.

Romans 2:4 “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?”

I am thankful that it is the kindness of God that leads me to repentance. I thank Jesus for being patient with me and not destroying me but showing me mercy. I not only need to repent but I want to because He is so kind and merciful.

Today ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any sin that is in you. Ask Him to lead you to a hatred of your sin and a repentant heart. Let Him do a work in your heart and lead you in the way of everlasting. Think of the kindness of God and meditate on His mercy and let that lead you into repentance.

(2) What sins do you see in your life that you need to repent of?

(3) What do you deserve for all the sin you have committed and why have you not received what you deserve?

(4) What kindness has God shown to you?

I could start by bringing up a whole lot of things that I need to be praying about during this fast. I could start with a list of requests or complaints. We have a lot of things that we need to be praying about but I want to start by just declaring how big our God is. Our God is great and our belief about how great He is effects the way we pray.

Psalm 70:4 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified!”

I love this verse. When we know how much God did for us in salvation through Jesus then our response is to declare continually how great, big, and amazing He is. ”Let God be magnified!” I want that to be the declaration of this church as we start this fast. I want our prayers to be drenched in the belief that God is big and He is greater then anything.

So let me give you some things to meditate on as we begin our fast…

(1) How big is God in your eyes?

(2) Do you believe that God is greater then anything?

Take time in your prayers today and just meditate on how big God is and spend time opening your mouth and declaring how big He is. I pray for those of you that love the salvation of Jesus that we would continually stand on one declaration, “Let God be magnified!”

MTV “Made” filming at Life Connection Church

They are doing a follow up on one of our interns, Alyssa Williams, who was previously on the show. Make sure to be on time or even, gasp, early and invite some friends. This is a great opportunity to reach out to the lost and have them check us out.

We’re going to be ourselves and let our love of Jesus speak for itself. Try your best to not let the cameras distract you or be a hindrance of any kind. Come ready to praise Jesus!

Congregational songwriting: How has grace changed your life specifically?

Welcome to Life Connection Church’s first ever congregational songwriting session! The idea is this. We will write a song around a theme and ask everyone in the body to submit a 1 sentence response to a question around that theme. The song’s lyrics will predominantly be made up of these responses. First up we will tackle grace. The question to the body is this…

How has grace changed your life specifically?

Huge question I know, so many aspects to grace so I expect a wonderful wide spectrum of answers. The goal is to answer personally and not generally. An example of a general response would be, “He took this sinner and made me clean“, a personal response would be, “He took my life of drugs and death, and gave me a life of purity and hope.”

Hey all,
Praise God for the Service on sunday and the blessing it was to be in our new building. I want to Thank Brother Steve Mills for coming and opening our building for us and giving so much and being such a huge blessing. I want to thank all of you for giving and making this such a successful project. Thank you for your support. Go to the site and check out the pictures.

We Raised $25,000 of the $30,000!!! What a awesome thing! Praise the LORD!!! We still have a few things to finish but we are in and we are loving it. We are still accepting donations but make sure to mark it building fund as we are not taking anymore special offerings for it. If you give over the net please send a e-mail and let us know it is for the building fund. Thank you soooooooo much we truly love you and we are thankful for your gifts whatever size it was.

Building update!

Hey all,

One more week until the opening day and God is really blessing. We are getting real close to completing but we have a big week of work ahead of us. It has been one real crazy month!!! People of the church have been giving hours upon hours to build out what is going to be a very amazing space. We are so blessed! It is really coming together. I cannot wait to see it all done and to rejoice in the completion of what has been a huge undertaking for just one month.

I wanted to first off thank all who have stretched and given above and beyond to get us to the place we are. We are very near to $22,000 which is a huge blessing in just three weeks. I am still amazed to see how God has put together people who are so amazing to give gifts ranging from 1 dollar up to 10,000 dollars and everything in between. Dana and I where talking the other night about this being the first time we have felt such overwhelming support from people who have done so much for us. So thank you!!! We only need $8,000 and we have reached our goal of $30,000 that is awesome. Thank you!!! and most of all THANK GOD!!!

Building update!

Praise God!! We have the most amazing support from our overseers and Friends from around the world. I have never been in a place in ministry where I feel such support system in place. God has surround me with Men who love God and love me and I am so thankful for the blessing. It is amazing to see that discipleship works and not only do our overseers pray for us, disciple us, lead us, but they support us with finances. From Steve Mills, Kim Sam-Seong, and Tim Dailey we have received $11,400. That is amazing! We are soooooooooooo blessed! Thank God for all of our support. We still have others who from outside the local body that are giving because they believe in what God is doing and we thank God for them.

If God has given us such leaders then we need to rise up to the standard that has been set and be willing to invest into our own soil. I believe we are going to see from the leaders and the local body the rest of the $18,000 come in. So please lets continue to pray and continue to be obedient. Let’s Stretch together!

Just wanted to write and testify what God is doing and give you an update. Love you all!

We got a building! We need Help!

Dear friends, family, church members, and everyone i have some sort of relationship with,

This letter comes to you with much excitement and mixed with that excitement is nervousness. Have you ever had that? Where you are so excited and nervous you are not sure where excitement ends and nervousness begins but it is all like washed together. I am overwhelmed with blessing but I am in need of help from as many people who can.

Ok here is what I am talking about… for the last 2 and half years we at life connection church have been praying for a new building location. Something that would be around 8,000 sq. feet and have more class space for our kids, seat about 250, have some offices, and something that would represent excellence a lot better. Every door that opened before seemed to close and so we would just turn from it believing that God would open a door and we would see Him work it out. The door has been opened to us!!! Our landlord came to us about 2 weeks ago and asked us to move to a bigger building just a block away from our current location and it is a great space with all that we were needing for this season. Because He came to us it gave us a lot of bargining power and we reached a deal that we are excited about. So we will moving into a new location Dec. 1 and have our opening service Dec. 2nd. THANK YOU, LORD!!!

Well all that is the exciting part and this is where nervousness meets excitement, but the peace of God passes all understanding. We need $30,000 this month for build out, furniture, decoration, media equipment, chairs, and the list could go on. This is where I am asking for your help. We need as many people who are in our lives on many different levels to give. If you know me at all you know that I hate writing letters like this because I do trust that God will provide but I also know that God provides through His people who are moved by His spirit to give. This is all I am asking, pray and ask God what to do, and do that! I know that it will help big time! I know many of you have helped us in the past and I am so thankful for your help and would not want to do anything that would offend you or push you away. If you feel like you should not give then by all means do not give, but If God’s spirit moves you to give then please do so as soon as possible.
