OPEN Lives

bu005299.jpgI think that many believers prescreen relationships and have already many times decided who is condemned to hell with no chance of repentance and who has a good chance of being saved. So they spend a lot of time building relationships with people who they could see saved and not those who have no chance. God has really been working on me to open my life up in relationships. The best way to reach people is for them to be able to see how I live in everyday life not just to see me preach or at a church service. It is for them to be able to see me “doing life” with preaching and church services in context to the way I live. We can not have open lives towards people if we have built up walls of hurt or prejudice. I was reading this very interesting book about a christian and a athiest going to churches to rate the church and see what the athiest thought of the different churches. At one point in the book the christian asked the athiest what moved you most today and the atheist said “what moved me most today was talking over coffee with you.” That statement hit me big time they went to one of the greatest church services america has to offer and the thing that moved him the most was a guy who would sit across a table with him and share his life. I think the church has missed the power of relationship. The best witness of Christ is you (hopefully) and people will not be able to see it if you do not open your life in relationship.

Think about it,
